Afghan-istan

I have been absent from this blog for a few weeks. OK, that is the wrong use of the word "few". I have been incommunicado for about five weeks and technically I think the word, few, is three in number or less. There have been many transitions taking place in my life and in the life of the family I am surrounded by. Lila was preparing for College graduation . . . and by default, I have been "cramming" to finish a High School graduation gift begun, we figure, about eight years ago.

Why did I decide on a king-sized afghan? By the time Lila can afford a king-sized bed, I'll be in a nursing home! Why did I decide on 2 ply yarn? (Most yarn is 4 ply and therefore takes less stitches per inch.) Why did I choose mohair like yarn? It is heavy! Why did I choose a pattern that sits entirely in your lap for the whole project?

Because, Lila liked it.
